Director Armstrong’s journey as a successful businesswoman began with the establishment of Armstrong Homecare, the leading caregiving service company in Washington State. With her business ventures and the subsequent establishment of the Armstrong Investment Company, she expanded her influence and resources to further support her philanthropic endeavors. In 2003, she founded the LASCO Foundation, emphasizing her dedication to social welfare.
Her exceptional contributions have garnered recognition and accolades. In 2017, she was honored with the Key to the City by Tacoma, symbolizing the highest acknowledgment a citizen can receive. She has been hailed as a hero and outstanding philanthropist in Tacoma. Additionally, the Korean government bestowed upon her the National Order of Merit, and Magnolia Medal, in acknowledgment of her philanthropic endeavors.

She actively participated in various organizations, including the Korean American Women’s Association, where she served as the chairperson and director. She also played a significant role as the founder and chairperson of the World Federation of Korean Inter-Married Women’s Associations (World-KIMWA), contributing to the advancement and empowerment of women.
